You're not going to have Tennessee to kick around anymore
Jul 19 2012 07:36 PM | RobVol in Articles
"It's been a tough four years at Tennessee and I know the SEC has enjoyed taking advantage of our tough times," he said to sprawling room of media members, "but you're not going to have Tennessee to kick around anymore."About 15 minutes later, the press conference was over. It was far and away the shortest of any SEC coach this week.
Expected to be peppered with questions surrounding his perceived fragile job status, Dooley faced an array of questions on everything from the new BCS playoff setup, the Vols' potent receiving corps, the maturation of quarterback Tyler Bray and program's meeting with North Carolina State in the season opener.
That was it.

Good response by Coach Dooley. I like this talk. Get out there behind your team and have a "can do" attitude. Now the key is does this coach speak translate onto the field?
We will find out in less than 43 days.
I am getting a little stoked. All the offensive tools should be there. We know defense will need to grow but maybe if the Vols can get through the 1st 4 games successfully the defense might catch up.

Glad to see Dooley say this. The response isn't just the team. I think the "kicked around" is his way of saying UT had some troubled times but this is a proud school and fans and what comes around, goes around and maybe the coming around is at full circle.

I loved the tough talk...We gotta back it up, but the pieces are in place..I have confidence in Sunseri's defensive style, but we need to put points on the board
And I loved Dooley's beginning , something to the effect " we have two new additions, who bring a lot more hot air"...I have Missouri circled on the calender
